The Bangladeshi Textile Workers have shown enormous courage and resilience in fighting back against sweatshop conditions in the face of mass sackings, state repression and police brutality. The situation in Bangladesh is very bad with trade unionists and labour rights activists being arrested under emergency power legislation. This draconian crackdown seems to be getting worse. Last January, Mohammad Khokon, a worker at World Dresses Ltd. was beated to death by his employer. They deserve our solidarity.
