Bangladeshi Textile Workers Solidarity Action
Join us for our third picket outside Whitechapel Tesco, in solidarity with the Bangladeshi workers who are exploited for Tesco's profit.
Over the last few months, the Bangladeshi Textile Workers have been waging a militant stuggle against poverty pay and sweatshop conditions. The bosses have responded with mass sackings, severe repression and organised state violence. Many labour movment activists have been detained under Emergency Powers Leglislation denying them a right to bail or contact with family and friends.
The most recent of these was Mehedi Hasan (see http://www.labourbehindthelabel.org/campaigns/urgent/bangladesh/90-bangl...) who was released on Sunday in response to international pressure. We must apply the same pressure to ensure trade union rights for all Bangladeshi workers and the release of all labour activists.
