No Sweat in London

Discussion Forum:
Repression and working-class resistance in Mexico

Over the last six months Oaxaca in southern Mexico has been gripped by a series of massive confrontations between the workers and youth and a corrupt local state. Hundreds of thousands have demonstrated, hundreds have been arrested and a number of protesters have been killed.
The struggle began with a teachers’ strike. And now the protesters demand the resignation of the governor Ulises Ruiz.

No Sweat is holding this meeting to discuss the current situation in Oaxaca and to plan solidarity with the workers’ organisations in the area.
