from 2.30pm at the LLOYDS Building on 100 Leadenhall Street in the
City...nearest tube is Liverpool St.

LLOYDS are having an open day and we are going to be protesting outside.

The cleaners at LLoyds are contracted by MCLELLAN .....they are earning poverty
wages, the contractor is still refusing to sign a union recognition agreement
and allegations of harassment and intimidation have been made against
management by the cleaners.

Labour Movement Conference on Climate Change is set for February 2008.

There will be an open planning meeting for this conference in Birmingham on Saturday 14 July. The venue is Carrs Lane Church, Carrs Lane, Birmingham City Centre, and the start time is 12. 45pm. Please do all you can to publicise this meeting amongst your union friends and comrades. We will need to take decisions on the venue, budget, structure and publicity for the February event at this meeting. If you are planning to attend this meeting in Birmingham please let me know by email as soon as possible.

Unite wins groundbreaking victory for agency workers

Maria Exall of the CWU seconded, stressing the point that ethical buying might make your conscience feel good, but it is workers' solidarity that can actually improve the lives of sweatshop workers.
